Eli S. Radanovich

July 24, 1918 - Oct. 25, 2001

Eli S. Radanovich, 83, of Catalpa Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 10:18 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, in Elkhart General Hospital. Mr. Radanovich had been employed by A.M. General and retired from the U. S. Air Force. Eli served his country in World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was shot down over France, flew over the Battle of the Bulge, and participated in the raids for D-Day over Normandy. Eli was a member of American Legion Post 284. He was born on July 24, 1918, in Wisconsin, to George and Luba Radanovich.

 

On June 1, 1941, he married Martha Krug, who died on June 11, 2001. Eli was also preceded in death by his son, John Radanovich; and by his brother, Michael "Mitch" Radanovich. He is survived by two grandchildren, John Radanovich Jr. of New York City and Kevin Radanovich of Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Eli Radanovich and Mila Radanovich; two nephews, George Radanovich Jr. and Dean Radanovich; and by a niece, Michele Schoen.

 

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 S. Kemble Avenue. Cremation will follow, with burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind.
