NORTH LIBERTY - Franz F. Radandt, 78, of 28276 New Road, died at 8:50 p.m. Friday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, of an apparent heart attack. Mr. Radandt was a farmer and served as a police officer for 20 years in Germany. He was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Buetow, Germany, and moved to North Liberty in 1952 from Germany.

On Aug. 3, 1939, in Hanover, Germany, he married Edith G. Geisler. She survives with two sons, Udo and Klaus-Dieter, both of North Liberty; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; five sisters, Esther Hattert, Ruth Waehling, Elizabeth Wagner, Christel Stephen and Meleta Radandt, all of Germany; and a brother, Kurt of Germany.

Graveside services will be at a later date. Cremation will take place. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today in A.M. Manuel Funeral Home.
