John U. Raab

John U. Raab, 67, of 411 East Joseph Street, a resident of Mishawaka for 30 years, died at noon Monday at the family home. He was ill for nearly two years with Bright’s disease.

 

For many years he was the watchman for the Grand Truck Western at the Main street crossing.

 

He was born in Bavaria, May 24, 1845 and was a German war veteran in the campaign of 1871-2.

 

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Anton and John J. Raab and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Lollmann, all of this city. He also leaves three half-sisters, Mrs. Susan Lang and Mrs. Jerry Hazen, of this city, and Mrs. Mary Little of New Jersey, and two half-brothers, John and Joe Raab.

 

The funeral was held Wednesday morning from St. Joseph Catholic Church.
