Sister M. Thomasia CSC, 84, died Thursday afternoon in Saint Mary’s Convent, after a brief illness. She was born as Rosalie M. Pieniarzkiewicz in South Bend in 1874. She was educated in South Bend and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1890, receiving the holy habit of the Sisters the same year. She made her profession of vows in 1896. She spent most of her community life at St. Hedwig in South Bend. She was stationed there for 45 years and has been on duty at the mother house at St. Mary’s since 1937. Surviving are several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s.
