Bronisilaum Bert Piechorowski April 18, 1918 to June 11, 1967

Obituary - South Bend Tribune - June 12 1967

Family: Piechorowski, Wysocki, Sopczynski,

Bert Piechorowski, 49 owner and operation of Bert's Food Market at that address, was found dead Sunday in the font seat of his car in his garage.  A brother-in-law, John Sopczynski, on a visit to Mr. Piechorowski's home, found him dead in the garage at 12:15 pm and summoned police.  Dr. Harry A Ludwick, St. Joseph county corner, ruled the death a suicide by carbon monoxide.  Dr Ludwick estimated that he had been dead for eight hours.  According to police, a key was in the car's ignition, but the motor was not running when they arrived.  Police said a sister, Mrs Mary Wysocki, who lives at the Piechorowski home, told them she heard noises about 4 a.m. Sunday and believed her brother may have been leaving the house then to go out to the garage which was 30 or 40 feet from the house.
