MISHAWAKA - Willard E. Pickens, 71,
of 307 W. Lawrence St., died at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday in South Haven
(Mich.) Hospital of natural causes. Mr. Pickens retired in 1985
from Uniroyal Plastics Co. after 42 years of service. He was born
Feb. 10, 1923, in Florence, Ala., and lived in Mishawaka since
1944, coming from Florence.
On Dec. 7, 1957, in Mishawaka, he married
Nancy R. Green. She survives, with four daughters, Gladys Jackson,
Barbara Fager, and Rita Burnett, all of Mishawaka,
and Martha Search of South Bend; three sons, Earl and
Ernest, both of Mishawaka, and Dannie of Elkhart; 20
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother, Arb of
Tishimingo, Miss.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday
and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North,
3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
