SOUTH BEND - Helen L. Phillips, 77, of 60691 Carroll St., died at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday in her home. Mrs. Phillips was a former employee of Studebaker Corp. She was born Aug. 24, 1918, in Mishawaka.

On Dec. 2, 1945, in South Bend, as Helen Stikeleather, she married Leo W. Phillips. He died Jan. 2, 1989. She is survived by five daughters, Carol Benson and Delores Phillips, both of Mishawaka, Alice Benson of Rochester, Rita Williams of Fort Myers, Fla., and Marie Rankin of South Bend; a son, William McKeon of Mishawaka; 27 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Evelyn Gross of South Bend.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. There will be no visitation. Chapel Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
