SOUTH BEND - Dennis C. Phillips, 72, died Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born, May 6, 1936 to William & Eileen (Sollberger) Phillips who preceded him in death. After 40 years in food service he retired from Clark Foods in 2000. He was a graduate of Central High School. Survivors include his wife, Carlene Phillips of South Bend; daughters, Judith (Bradley) Myers of Southfield, MI, Deanna (Austin) Williams of Sheridan, IN; grandchildren, Derek & Craig Myers, Gunnar & Rhett Williams; stepmother, Margaret Phillips of Fort Wayne; brothers, David, William, Dale, Daniel & Steve Phillips and their families; sisters, Janet, Linda & Aimee Phillips, Patricia Andrews, Nancy Wass, Shirley Jennings, JaNae McPeek, Cheryl Fitzpatrick and their families; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death in addition to his parents, by a brother, Larry.

Service is 2 p.m. Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Rd. with calling 2 hours prior. Pastor Robert Bruckner officiating. Calling also 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
