Thelma G. Peyla

June 6, 1908 – August 19, 2005

Thelma G. Peyla, 97, of West Jefferson, Mishawaka, died at 3pm on Friday, August 19, 2005, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Nursing Home.

Thelma was born in Hartford City IN, to the late Bert and Ethel (Parker) Roberts.  On August 31, 1929, she married George Peyla, who preceded her in death in October 1982.

Thelma is survived by two children, Jack (Susan) Peyla of South Bend, and Rita Schroeder of Mishawaka.  She was the loving grandmother of four grandchildren, Dianne (Ron) Morris of Granger, John (Evelyn) Schroeder of Indianapolis, Elizabeth Frantz and Anthony Peyla of Mishawaka; and was a great grandmother to six great grandchildren, Amy (Rick) Eckert of Denver CO, Caroline Eckert of El Segundo CA, Patrick and Daniel Ranschaert of Mishawaka, Austin Peyla of Middlebury IN, and Olivia Peyla of Mishawaka.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Thelma had two brothers, Clay and Hebert Roberts, and three sisters, Madge Roberts, Grace Smith and Ruth Locke, who all preceded her in death.

Thelma gave of herself unselfishly to her family and friends which was one of her greatest attributes.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Monday, August 22, 2005, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka.  A Mass will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill Street, Mishawaka, at 10am Tuesday, August 23, 2005.  A Christian burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, with Father Robert Yast officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association.
