SOUTH BEND - Kurt G. Petzke Sr. 83, residing in South
Bend, IN, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2007, in his home.
He was born on June 16, 1924, in Reichenbach East Prussia,
Germany as the son of Arthur and Wilhelmina Petzke. He came to
the United States at the age of two.
In 1958, in St. Paul's Lutheran Church,
South Bend, he was united in marriage to Patricia Lee. She
preceded him in death in 1986. Mr. Petzke is survived by a
daughter, Lisa Petzke of Phoenix, AZ; a son, Kurt Petzke Jr. of
Mishawaka; and four grandchildren, Chris Petzke, Rudy Perez,
Shayla Perez and Briana Perez. A sister, Ursula Poulin
preceded him in death. He graduated from Riley High School and
served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Petzke
was employed as a salesman for G. W. Berkheimer and was an
antique dealer.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2008, at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
