SOUTH BEND - Henry Petry, Jr., 68, of Victoria Street, died at 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 3, in his residence, after an illness. He was born on Sept. 1, 1928, in Garrett, Ky., and lived in the South Bend area most of his life.

On May 7, 1949, in South Bend, Ind., he married Eugenia Zakrocki, who survives. Mr. Petry was preceded in death by his son, Gregory, in 1975. He is also survived by two step-sisters, Norica Litteral and Estelle Sampson, both of South Bend; and a step-brother, Robert Petry of Mississippi. Mr. Petry was employed as a construction worker for Bradberry Brothers Excavating Co. He was also a Navy veteran of World War II.

Services wil be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew Cathederal. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Cathedral. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Rev. Thomas Shoemaker will officiate. Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or St. Matthew Cathederal.
