Funeral of Former Resident Here Thursday

Services for William H. Peltz, 63, former president of the Peltz-Kaufer Paper Co., South Bend, who died Sunday in St. Petersburg, Fla., will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home

Rev. Richard C. Thistle, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate.  Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Highland Cemetery.  Friends may call in the funeral home after noon Wednesday

Moves to Florida

Since 1952 when the Peltz-Kaufer firm was sold to the Inlander-Steindler Paper Co., he has been district sales manager of Inlander-Steindler, retiring on Jan. 1., this year.  After retiring, he sold his South Bend home at 2041 Berkley Pl. and moved to Florida.  He had been ill two weeks preceding his death

He was a member of the South Bend Optimist Club, the Rotary International, the South Bend Lodge 235 of the Beneveolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Million Dollar Club of retail salesmen

Native of South Bend

A native of South Bend, he was born here on Sept. 1, 1900, and had lived most of his lifetime in the city.  He married Hazel Lucile Hollar Sept. 19, 1929, in South Bend.  She survives

Also surviving are a son, Thomas A. of South Bend; three grandchildren; a brother, I. T. Peltz of South Bend, and three sisters, Mrs. Josephine Swanson and Mrs. Bertha Horning both of South Bend and Mrs. Gertrude Schubert of LaCrencenta, Calif

PELTZ - Active pallbearers at services for William H. Peltz, former president of the Peltz-Kaufer Paper Co. here, will be Jack Hollar, Eldon Collins, James Hornung, Harold Swanson, Theodore Anderson and Jack Horning.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Fassnacht, Paul Bohn Sr., John Douglass, W. R. Wharton, Harvey Wine, Clifford Templeton and F. M. Green.  Mr. Peltz died Sunday in St. Petersburg, Fla.  Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.  Entombment will be in Highland Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the funeral home
