Mrs. Cora Pearce, 89, of Lakeland, Fla., daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. James Reece, a North Liberty pioneer family, died Wednesday afternoon in a Lakeland nursing home. Born June 22, 1884, in North Liberty, she had lived in North Liberty, until 1963, when she moved to Florida. Her husband, Frank C. Pearce, died June 9, 1961.
Surviving are a son, Richard of Lakeland; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Eva Jacobs.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Eastlawn Cemetery,  North Liberty, by members of Chapter 290. Order of the Eastern Star, of which she was a charter member. The Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St., is in charge of arrangements.
