Virgil Nicolini

Mishawaka – Virgil Nicolini, 74, of 532 W. 9th died at 12:40 p.m. Thursday after a five-week illness. Born on May 15,1907 in St. Arcangelo, Italy. He lived in Mishawaka since 1909. He  retired from Uniroyal in 1969 after 44 years of employment. On Aug. 30, 1928 in Mishawaka he married Elsie J. Buyle, who survives along with two daughters, Mrs. Dolores VanHove and Doris Ann Olivia, both of Mishawaka; a son Joseph A. of Mishawaka; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nordina Waltz of Mishawaka; and two brothers, John of Schererville and Raymond of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Bavo’s Church. Rev. Gerald Gillig will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call until 9 p.m. today in the Hahn-Peffley-DeVos Funeral Chapel, 8th Street entrance. He was a charter member of the DeAmiets Club and belonged to the Holy Name Society at St. Bavo’s.
