Domenico Nicolini, of 514  W. Tenth St., Mishawaka, died March 17, in the Golden Age Manor, Mishawaka, less that 48 hours after the death of his wife. He had been ill for some time.

Domenico Nicolini

Mishawaka – Mr. Nicolini died, 89, died about 4:30 a.m. in the Golden Age Manor nursing home following an extended illness.

He was born July 13,1884, in Sant-Arcangelo, Italy, and had lived in Mishawaka since 1923, moving here from Steubenville, Ohio, with his family. The couple were married in Switzerland on June 22, 1908.

Mr. Nicolini retired from Uniroyal Inc. in 1949 after 26 years employment there.

Surviving are a son Armando, and a daughter, Mrs. Julius Boricci, both of Mishawaka; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild, and one great-great grandchild.

Friends may call all day today in the DeVos Funeral chapel and until services Tuesday. Rev. Stephen Cvaniga, pastor of St. Bavo’s will officiate. A double burial will follow in Fairview cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today in the funeral chapel.

Mr. Nicolini was a member of the DeAmicis Club of Mishawaka.

 

Double funeral services for a husband and wife who died less than 48 hours apart over the weekend will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church.

Services will be conducted for Mr. and Mrs. Domenico Nicolini of 514 W. 10th Street. Mrs. Nicolini, he former Alfonsina Capponi, died late Friday in the coronary unit at St. Joseph Hospital. She was 83.
