Jean Nichols, 72, of South Bend,
Ind., died at 1:25 a.m. on Monday, April 5, in Saint Joseph's
Regional Medical Center, South Bend. Mrs. Nichols was born on
June 13, 1926, in Hot Springs, Ark., and lived here for 45 years,
coming from Mississippi. She was married on May 21, 1946, in
Mississippi, as Jean George, to Amos C. Nichols, who died
on Feb. 10, 1991. She is survived by her son, David R. (Jeanne)
Nichols of South Bend; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn (Wayne) Critchlow
of Mishawaka, Ind., and Jeremy David Nichols of South Bend; and
by a brother, Ralph George of Garden City, Ga. Family and friends
may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home,
824 S. Mayflower Road.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home, with Pastor Terry Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
