MISHAWAKA - Ora Montez Newsom, 89, of Mishawaka, IN,
passed away at 7:00 a.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008, in Memorial
Hospital. Ora was born on September 30, 1918, in Waterloo,
Alabama, to William Andy and Ora Delia (McClain) Austin.
She had been employed as a waitress for many years. Survivors
include her daughter, Joyce (Bert) Wroblewski of
Mishawaka; her son, Jerry (Norma) Newsome of Pekin, IL; five
grandchildren, Suzann (Ed) Bowker, Mylen (Stan) Alberson,
Ronnie Newsome, Mark (Robin) Newsome and Tony Newsome; 13
great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; her sister,
Maudie Bush of Dyersburg, TN; and by several nieces and
nephews. Preceding her in death were two grandchildren, Jerry
Joseph and Billy Newsome; her sister, Bea Austin; and her
brother, William Austin.
Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 11, 2008, in the Curry J.W. & Son Funeral Home in Dyersburg, TN, where friends may call two hours prior to services. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dyersburg, TN. Ora was a good mother and grandmother. She enjoyed making quilts. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 9135 N.
