Clara S. Nering

Oct. 23, 1912 - March 22, 1999

Clara S. Nering, 86, of Regency Place, formerly of Riverside Drive, South Bend, Ind., died at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 22, in Regency Place.

She was born on Oct. 23, 1912, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. She retired in 1971 from the Bendix Corporation after 30 years of service.

On July 3, 1938, in South Bend, as Clara Splitt, she married Walter G. Nering, who preceded her in death on May 19, 1981. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Tillie Makowski and Irene Badowski.

She is survived by eight nieces and five nephews.

Family and friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, and one hour prior to services on Thursday in the church. A Rosary will be held at 4 p.m. today.

Services will be at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
