SOUTH BEND - Mr. Jack Alvin Nemeth, 65, of South Bend, passed away in his residence on Friday of an illness. He was born on April 17, 1944, to the late Wendell Robert and Elizabeth Marie (Newlun) Nemeth. Jack was a graphic designer, having worked at the South Bend Tribune until he had to retired in 2003 for health reasons after 22 years of service. Mr. Nemeth served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He loved the Chicago Cubs baseball team. He is survived by his daughter, Shari Nemeth of Scottsdale, AZ; and five siblings, Max (Barb) Nemeth of Mauldin, SC, Dorothy (Lee) Emerick of Elkhart, Carol (Bob) Rand of Mishawaka, Wendell (Ann) Nemeth of Niles and Beth (Chris) Mitchell of Mishawaka. Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the McGann Hay Funeral Homes, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Drive at Jefferson, with Rev. Reed Anderstrom, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, where military honors services will take place. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made in Jack's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
