28, 1923 - Dec. 24, 2009SOUTH BEND - Ella E. Nemes, 86, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Memorial Hospital. Ella was born on July 28, 1923 in South Bend to the late Andrew and Ella (Peto) Luko. On May 2, 1964 she married Richard Nemes. Ella was preceded in death by her parents; son, Richard Heidrich and a sister, Irene Zelaski. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Richard; daughter, Becky (Jon) Burkart of Mishawaka; son, Randall (Linda) Heidrich of North Liberty, IN; stepson, Michael (Kathy) Nemes of South Bend; nieces, Janet and Debbie Ripsco; four grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Ella was a member of St. John the Baptist parish for more than 25 years. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, December 28, 2009, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 29, 2009, in St. John the Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. John's Way, South Bend, IN 46628.
