Floris I. Neenan

November 8, 1921June 24, 1984

 

Floris I. Neenan, 62, of 54533 Irish Way, died at 9:30am Sunday in Memorial Hospital.  She was a former supervisor and taught nursing at ST Joseph School of Nursing in Fort Wayne and at Healthwin Hospital in South Bend.

 

She was born November 8, 1921, in Battle Creek, and lived in South Bend for 25 years, coming from Warsaw.  On September 8, 1962, at Notre Dame, as Floris Gregory, she married T. Daniel Neenan.  He survives along with a daughter, Mary Margaret “Maggie” Neenan, at home; a sister, Dorothy Gregory and her stepmother, Dorothy Gregory, both of Broomfield CO.  A brother, Dr. Charles Gregory, former president of the American Society of Orthopedic Surgeons and University of Texas Medical School teacher, died in 1976.

 

A funeral Mass will be said at 10am Tuesday in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Notre Dame, of which she was a member.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.

 

Friends may call form 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N William St., where the parish rosary will be recited at 7pm.  She was a graduate of St Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, and a member of the National Council on Alcoholism.
