MISHAWAKA - Elaine Marie Nash, 87, of Mishawaka, IN, passed to her rest Thursday morning, Feb 11, 2010, while a patient at Caring Hands Nursing Home, Peru, IN, where she could be near her son, Kenneth. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, 26863 West Main (US-12, Edwardsburg. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Reese of Edwardsburg. Friends may call one hour before the services, and friends and family may gather at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. in Edwardsburg. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Elaine Nash was born January 22, 1923, in South Bend, the daughter of Julius and Lillian P. (Demartlaere) Monserez. She graduated from South Bend Washington High School, and was a home-maker most of her life, Except for a time she worked for the former Shoppers Fair. As Elaine Monserez, she married Edward J. Nash, who passed in September 1984. Surviving are son, Kenneth Nash of Peru, IN; and a grandson, James Nash of NH; a sister-in-law, Dora Jean Ranschaert of Mishawaka. There are many nieces and nephews, and several cousins. Those who have predeceased her, besides her husband, are her parents, and her brother, Lawrence U. Ranschaert in April 2003.
