Sister Mary Rachel Nagel CSC
Jan. 15, 1895 – June 7, 1971
Sister Mary Rachel CSC, 76, died
today in St. Mary’s Convent. Born Jan. 15, 1895 in Plymouth,
Ind, as Agnes Clara Nagel, she entered the Congregation of
the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1913. She made her profession of
vows on Dec. 10, 1916. Survivors include a sister, Sister M.
Alfreda CSC of Our Lady of Holy Cross Convent. She served as
an infirmarian and sacristan in schools in CALIFORNIA, Utah and
Indiana, including St. Mary’s Academy and St. Mary’s
College.
Friends may call in the convent where the
rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 11
a.m. Tuesday in Our Lady of Loretto Church, with burial in Our
Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s.
