NEW CARLISLE - Olive Smith Mounts, 95, of Grandville, Ohio, formerly of New Carlisle, died Wednesday in LPN Healthcare Center, Newark, Ohio. Mrs. Mounts was a former teacher at Hudson Lake Elementary School. She was born July 15, 1899, in LaPorte, and lived in New Carlisle most of her life. In New Carlisle, as Olive Smith, she married Ward Mounts. He died Nov. 23, 1989. She is survived by a son, Lewis of Grandville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was a member of Delta Beta Phi Sorority and Olive Chapel Church, and was a graduate of Tri-State University.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert St. Burial will be in Olive Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
