MISHAWAKA - Emiel P. Mostaert, 92, of 1014 W. Sisth Street, died early this morning in St. Joseph Hospital after an illness. He retired from Studebaker Corporation in 1962 after 40 years of service. Born Feb. 2, 1896 in Altere, Belgium, he had lived in this area since 1907 coming from Belgium. On May 16, 1921 in South Bend, he married Madalena C. Vervaet. She died March 18, 1985. Survivors include a daughter, Elsie M. Boenne of Mishawaka; a son, Henry J. of Mishawaka; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and entombment will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Hahn’s DeVos Funeral Home. He was a World War I veteran.
