MISHAWAKA - William Moraitis, 72, of Mishawaka, IN passed away Saturday, March 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. He was self-employed as a painter. William was born on August 12, 1935 in Beacon, NY to the late Stache and Beatrice Moraitis and lived most of his life in Mishawaka.

William is survived by two daughters, Billy Jo (Abel) Mercado of Mishawaka and Claudia of New York; five stepdaughters, Earline (Jose) Garcia, Tammey Stevens, Linda (Will Jackson) Stevens and Barbara (Lenny) Stevens all of Mishawaka and Dorline Stevens of Argos; fourteen grandchildren, Claudia's three daughters, and Kenny, Tamala, James, Anthony, Latrisha, Darrel, Crystal, Shawn, Shawn M., Jordan and then Antonio - the apple of his eye. Two great-grandsons. Four sisters, Chris, Mary, and Anna all of New York and Demetrius of Chicago; and two brothers, George and Louie both of New York also survive. William served in the United States Navy.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family.
