Cecil L. Moon, 82, residing on Maple Hill Court, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:33 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 6, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

 

Mr. Moon retired from the Martin Machine Company, South Bend, as a tool maker following 42 years of service. Mr. Moon was an avid golfer and bowler, a past member of the Four Lakes Country Club, a World War II Navy veteran, and was a member of VFW Post 1167.

 

He was born on Oct. 19, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Don A. and Edna (Jester) Moon. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

 

On April 19, 1947, in Hammond, Ind., he married Louise Marie Clupper, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joseph Heintzelman of Granger, Ind.; a son, James Moon of Lakeville, Ind.; four grandchildren, Leisa Heintzelman of Manhattan, N.Y., Laura Heintzelman and Joel Heintzelman, both of Chicago, Ill., and Amy and her son, Tate Heintzelman of Granger; and a sister, Mildred Ludwig of South Bend.

 

Memorial services for Mr. Moon will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend.

 

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Saturday in the funeral home.
