Muade L. Moffit

New Carlisle - Muade L. Moffit, age 92, of Hamilton Grove Retirement Community, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday in the nursing home. She was born Feb. 23, 1903, in LaPorte County.
On Dec. 6, 1921, in LaPorte, as Maude L. Brewer, she married Eston Moffitt. He died Dec. 22, 1960. She is survived by two daughters, Delores Harms of Wichita, Kan., and Ruth Roberts of Galien; a son, James of LaPorte; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Joyce Meyer of Walkerton and Sarah Brewer of Michigan City. A son, Donald E. died Jan. 6, 1937. She was a member of Galien United Methodist church and World War II Mothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 s. Filbert St. Burial will be in Olive Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
