SOUTH BEND – Amelia E. Mochel,
102, of 64144 Indiana 331, died at 1 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph
Hospital. She was born July 13, 1889 in St. Joseph County.
As Amelia E. Schalliol, she married
Clem Mochel. He died June 27, 1965. Surviving are a daughter,
Mary Jane Berger of Woodland and Virgil of Wadsworth, Ohio; seven
grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by three sons, Evan, who died in 1945, Robert, who died in
1944, and Ned who died in 1931. She was a member of St.
John United Church of Christ, Woodland.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the
church. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Woodland. Friends
may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Bubb Funeral
Chapel North, Mishawaka. Friends may also call an hour before
services Monday in the church.
Editor: Both sons Evans and Robert were
killed in action in German in World War II. She was therefore a
Double Gold Star Mother.
