SOUTH BEND - Rose C. Mishler, 97, joined our Lord and Savior on Friday, January 8, 2010. She was born on April 2, 1912 to Andrew and Victoria Hornyak in South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Harold M. Mishler to whom she was married for 57 years. Also preceding her in death were her sisters, Mary Pinkola and Helene Ladewski and brothers William and Stephen Hornyak. Rose was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Christine Miller and husband Ray Jr. of Tulsa, OK; and her son, Dennis Mishler and wife Barbara of Owasso, OK. She is also survived by 6 grandchildren , 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Before retiring to Tulsa, Oklahoma she and her husband lived in South Bend as well as in Brazil and Mexico City during husband Harold's foreign assignments with Bendix International. She is remembered by her family for her culinary skill with Hungarian cooking, her sense of humor and good nature as well as her expertise doing the Charleston, which she performed even while in a wheelchair. A funeral service will take place on Monday, January 18 at 11 am at Highland Cemetery Chapel. Welsheimer Family Funeral Home, 574-232-4857, is assisting with arrangements.
