SOUTH BEND - Louise Hess Miller, 88, of Wyomissing, Pa., formerly of South Bend and Etna Green, died at 6:20 p.m. Saturday in Highlands Skilled Care Unit, Wyomissing. Mrs. Miller worked for the South Bend Community School Corp. as a high school English teacher for many years and was a reporter for the South Bend News-Times.

She was born Aug. 19, 1907, in Etna Green. As Louise Hess, she married Marlin Miller. He died in 1990. She is survived by three sons, Marlin Jr. of Reading, Pa., Rev. James H. of Niskayuna, N.Y., and Terry of South Bend; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She was a graduate of Indiana University and the University of Notre Dame and a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church.

Private services and burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Henninger Funeral Home, Reading, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Louise Miller Scholarship Fund, Indiana University Showalter House, P.O. Box 500, Bloomington, IN 47402.
