Bert Miller, 83,
of 229 N. Huey St., died at 9:30am today in Carlyle Nursing Home.
Mr. Miller retired in 1978 from the University of Notre Dame.
He was born May
6, 1902, in Terre Coupee, and was a lifelong area resident.
On April 24, 1929, in South Bend, he married Sophie Boryc, who
survives. Also surviving area a daughter, Maxine Jachimiak
of South Bend; a son, Eugene of South Bend; three grandchildren;
a great grandchild; three sisters, Mamie Wisniewski and Helen
Niedbalski of South Bend, and Verna Fowler of Osceola; and a
brother, William of South Bend. A son, Bert Jr., died in
1973
Services will be
at 10am Thursday in St Mary’s Polish National Catholic
Church. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery. Friends
may call from 2 to 9pm Wednesday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where
a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30pm.
