Mishawaka - Services for Genevieve Michels, 72, of 516 W. 15th St., who died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday in her home, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bavo’s Catholic Church.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or Sister Anne’s Class of St. Bavo’s Church.
Mrs. Michels retired in 1973 from St. Joseph Hospital.
Born May 23, 1913, in Mishawaka, she was a lifelong area resident.
As Genevieve Goethals, she married J. J. Michels in St. Bavo’s Church on July 23, 1934. He survives with a daughter, Janice Morrical of Granger; a son, Timothy of Brentwood, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Clara Cox and Irene Rodts, both of Mishawaka, and a brother, Peter Goethals of Mishawaka. A son, David, died in 1969. Mrs. Michels was a member of St. Bavo’s Church.
