Lillian H. Michalak, 74, of Sundown Road, South Bend, Ind., died at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, in her home. She was born on Sept. 10, 1923, in New Carlisle, Ind., and was a lifelong area resident. Mrs. Michalak was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She was married on May 2, 1947, in South Bend, as Lillian H. Kush, to Harry S. Michalak. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Bert Kush.

Mrs. Michalak is survived by a daughter, Ann Marie Michalak of South Bend; two sons, Robert (Frances) Michalak and Bill (Patricia) Michalak, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Andy Michalak, Billy Michalak, Stacia Michalak, Jeremy Gorbitz, Jason Gorbitz and Jessica Gorbitz, all of South Bend, Randy Michalak of Plymouth, Ind. and Rob Michalak of San Francisco, Calif.; one great-grandchild, Dana Love of South Bend; and by a sister, Cecelia Mroczkiewicz of South Bend.

Family and friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in Holy Family Catholic Church with entombment to follow in the Resurrection Gardens Mausoleum at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
