Ora M. Liffick Oct. 5, 1925 - Nov. 19, 2009
MISHAWAKA - Ora M. Liffick, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center in South Bend. Ora was born October 5, 1925 in Magnolia, Kentucky to the late Alfred and Katie (Gardner) Madden. On December 2, 1943, Ora married Mr. Francis "Boots" Liffick. Boots preceded her in death, passing away in 2003. Surviving are her children, Larry Liffick of Mishawaka, and Deborah J. Haws of Osceola, six grandchildren; Mel Zima, Jon Zima, Brad Liffick, Troy Liffick, Jessica Liffick, and Tara Andryziak along with many great grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister, Pearl Creason of Kenutcky. Ora was preceded in death by her daughter, Rita D. Eakins, and her siblings, Otis and Charlie Madden, Marie Bales, Elizabeth Regenaur, Sophia Whitlow, Annie Clark, Opal Madden, Ruth Kea, and Ruby Sloan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2-6 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Pastor Jeff Little of the South Side General Baptist Church will perform the 10:00 am funeral service on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Ora was employed for several years by the Uniroyal Corporation in Mishawaka, retiring over 30 years ago. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post # 360 in Mishawaka for over 40 years, and served as the Past Madam President of the Eagles Ladies Auxiliary Ariea 2083 from 1980-1981.
