Almira M. (Alwine) Lewis

Feb. 8, 1914 - July 20, 1997

Almira M. (Alwine) Lewis, 83, formerly of Osceola, passed away at 8:40 a.m. Sunday at the home of her granddaughter.

Mrs. Lewis was born on Feb. 8, 1914 to John and Elsie Harris in Honor, Michigan. As Almira M. Harris, she married Martin Lewis in Lakeville. He died in 1978. Surviving are five sons; Howard Alwine of Osceola, Warren Alwine, Douglas Alwine and James Alwine of Mishawaka and Kenneth Alwine of New Carlisle. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 39 Great grandchildren and 3 Great Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Lewis was a member of the Lake Alfred Assembly of God Church in Florida. She retired from the Uniroyal Corporation in 1976.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Tuesday at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main St., Mishawaka, where services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Officiating will be Rev. Robert Johnson.
