Evelyn Leszczynski

Evelyn Leszczynski, loving wife, mother and grandmother, 69, of Beale Street in South Bend, passed away Saturday in her home. Mrs. Leszczynski was born on May 12, 1927, in South Bend and was a lifelong resident.

 

On Aug. 28, 1948, in South Bend, as Evelyn Ciesielski, she married Frank Leszczynski who survives with five sons, Ronald (Phyllis) Leszczynski of Grandville, Mich., Donald (Glenda) Leszczynski of South Bend, Gerald Leszczynski of South Bend, Michael (Julie) Leszczynski of South Bend and Paul (Debbie) Leszczynski of South Bend; six grandchildren, Mark, David, Adam, Elliott, Amy and Elyse; and three sisters, Dolores Pinkowski of South Bend, Dorothy Mathia of South Bend and Adeline DeSchepper of Edwardsburg, Mich.

 

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 30, in Holy Cross Catholic Church, entombment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a parish rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Mrs. Leszczynski was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Harvest House of the church, Grandmothers Club of St. Hedwig Church, Women's Firefighters Auxiliary, PNA 83 and had been employed by the former Wilson Brothers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
