Emily M. Leslie, 75, of Union Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, Jan. 12, in her residence. Mrs. Leslie was born on Aug. 19, 1925, in Chicago, Ill., to Gust and Mary (Kuttenburg) Peklo, and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Sept. 21, 1944, in South Bend, as Emily M. Peklo, she married Carl B. "Bud" Leslie, who preceded her in death on March 26, 1996. She is survived by one daughter, Christine M. Leslie of South Bend; a son, Timothy C. (Patricia) Leslie of Loveland, Colo.; and by two grandchildren, Jon Guthery and Stephanie Leslie.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 17, in the WELSHEIMER FUNERAL HOME NORTH, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Dr. Nelson Worden officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Jan. 16, in the funeral home.
