Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" Lesicki, 80, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Tuesday morning, April 25, in the Healthwin Specialized Care Facility. She was born on Dec. 24, 1919, in South Bend, to Anton and Helen (Sheffler) Sobecki.

 

On April 29, 1939, in South Bend, she married Alfred Joseph Lesicki, who died on Dec. 8, 1980. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ann, Lucille, Helen, Mary, Bernice and Virginia; and by her brothers, Louis, Eugene and George. She is survived by her daughters, Gloria Bennett of South Bend, Barbra Sinneran of Los Angeles, Calif., Judi (Julius) Horvath of South Bend, Kathleen (Michael) Doyle of South Bend, Bonnie Sipress of South Bend, Marianne (Mark) Chrzanowski of Versailles, Ky., and Nancy Lesicki of South Bend; by a son, Joseph Lesicki of South Bend; her grandchildren, Bill, Kim, Chris, David, Tammy, Debbie, Todd, Jimmilu, Erica, Susan, Mark, Shea, Carrie, K.C., Chad, Kristin, Amber, Ben, Shannon, Joanne, Erin, Ron, Scott, Beth, Sabena, Cybill, Brandy, Steven, Justin and Lara; 12 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Genevieve (Darwin) Wilkerson and Fran Sherwood, both of Hemet, Calif., Evelyn (Gene) Linner and Bonnie (Dr. Jack) Wright, both of South Bend; and by a brother, Jim (Mary Rose) Sobecki of Michigan City, Ind.

 

Mrs. Lesicki worked for over 30 years at Eddie's Restaurant in South Bend, and also cooked for the priest at Christ the King for several years. She was a longtime member of Christ the King Catholic Church and belonged to Harvest House.

 

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 28, in Christ the King Catholic Church, with Father Tom Jones, CSC, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park following Mass. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 27, in WELSHEIMER NORTH FUNERAL HOME, 17033 Cleveland Road, where a Rosary will be said at 4 p.m. in the funeral home.
