Raymond D. Leighty

March 26, 1904 – January 6, 1978

Raymond D. Leighty, 73, of 19791 Kern, died at 11pm Friday at St Joseph Hospital after suffering an apparent heart attack in his home.  He was retired from Uniroyal where he had worked for 47 years. 

He was born on March 26, 1904, in Burr Oak and lived here most o his life.  On July 23, 1934, in South Bend, he married Harriett Jerzawski. She survives along with four daughters, Mrs. Louis Sinnett, Mrs. Judy Molnar and Mrs. Nancy Panis, all of South Bend, an Miss Susan Leighty of Ann Arbor; two sons, James E or Rochester NY and William D of South Bend; 10 grandchildren; a great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Feltes and Mrs. Evelyn Sester, both of South Bend. 

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel.  Mr. Leighty was a member of the South Bend Eagles Lodge for 37 years.
