ROLLING PRAIRIE – Clement J. “Bud” Layman
, 79, of 6171 E. 700 North, died at 6:30 a.m. Friday in LaPorte Hospital. He was a carpenter for Ackerman Enterprises fo 50 years. Born Dec. 18, 1907, in Rolling Prairie, he had lived in the area all of his life. On Nov. 15, 1941, in Rolling Prairie, he married Gertrude Mrozinski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Alice Taddeucci of LaPorte; four grandchildren; and a sister, Cecelia Kinne of New Carlisle. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. John Kanty Catholic Church, followed by burial in St. John Kanty Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Amen-Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, New Carlisle, where a parish vigil service will be at 3 p.m. Mr. Layman was a member of the American Legion Post 297 of New Carlisle and the Golden Age Club of Rolling Priarie. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
