Albert A. Laureys

Dec. 17, 1926 - Oct. 30, 2008

 

NEW CARLISLE - Albert A. Laureys, 83, passed away Oct. 30, 2008 at Saint Joseph Regional Medical due to an illness. Albert was born in Mishawaka, Indiana to Phillip and Leona (DeWaele) Laureys on December 17, 1926. Albert grew up in New Carlisle, Indiana and graduated from New Carlisle High School. On June 26, 1948 he married Maydean Kring, his wife of sixty years. Albert was a self-employed farmer, retired bus driver and retired postal carrier. Albert was a veteran of the United States Army. He coached Junior Bowling for 15 years at the Black Cat Lanes in New Carlisle. Albert was an avid bowler and member of the South Bend Bowling Hall of Fame. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest. Albert's wife Mazie survives with son, Thomas (Diana) Laureys of New Carlisle and special grandson, Matt (His Buddy).

 

Family and friends may visit the family to celebrate Al's life, Sunday, November 2, 2008, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 297, New Carlisle, IN or to the Lydick Lions Club.
