Willa Mae Laurence

SOUTH BEND - Willa Mae Laurence, 62, of St. Joseph's Care Center-West, formerly of 1128 N. Lawrence St., died at 5:17 a.m. Monday in the nursing home. Mrs. Laurence was a nurse's aide in the former Carlyle Healthcare Center. She was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Scott, Ark., and lived in South Bend most of her life. She is survived by two daughters, Denise Armstrong and Donna M. Laurence, both of South Bend; four sons, Jacques, Franchot and Royce, all of South Bend, and Pierre of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; and her mother, Leona Green of South Bend. She was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church and a former church pianist.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the church, where a parish rosary will be said at 7 p.m., and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
