Colman F. S. Large

Beloved father, husband, brother and son. Loved by many, endeared by all. Born on Sept. 4, 1966, in LeMars, Iowa, Colman is survived by his wife, Laura, and son, Daniel Nicholas of Granger, Ind.; his parents, Robert F. and Mary B. Large of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother, Kevin M. Large of Mishawaka, Ind.; a sister, Andrea M. Gleason (George) of Richland, Mich.; his grandmother, Margaret Large of North Abington, Mass.; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alicia Marie in 1964. Colman graduated from Comstock High School, Kalamazoo, in 1985, and Western Michigan University, Magna Cum Laude in December 1989. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1992.

 

On June 24, 1989, he married Laura B. Albright in St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kalamazoo. They have a son, Daniel Nicholas, 21 years old. Colman was employed as a commercial credit officer at 1st Source Bank for the past five years. Prior to that he worked at the NBD Bank in Elkhart. Coleman enjoyed playing with his son, sailing, playing golf and tennis, and driving his red Corvette. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. He was a parishioner at St. Anthony's Catholic Church of South Bend.

 

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at the University of Notre Dame. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 17033 Cleveland Road, where a prayer service will be said at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial fund established for Daniel Large at any 1st Source Bank location, or mailed to 100 N. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46601.

 

Friends may visit with the family from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 1999, in the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 111 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Herm's funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 1999, in the funeral home. The Rev. Bob Vardaman, seniors' pastor of the Plymouth Wesleyan Church, will officiate. Burial in New Oakhill Cemetery will follow. Memorial gifts may be made in Herm's name to the Marshall County Heart Fund.
