NOTRE DAME - Rev. Thomas G. LaPine, CSC, 73, of Moreau Seminary, died Friday in the seminary. Rev. LaPine was born July 24, 1920, in Danbury, Conn.

He took first vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross in 1944 and was ordained in 1949. From 1944 to 1964, he served at Columbia Preparatory School and the University of Portland (Ore.). From 1964 to 1984, he served as chaplain in several hospitals, including St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka. From 1984 until his retirement in 1992, he served in the Pastoral Care Department of St. Paul's Health Care Center, South Bend.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Basilica of Sacred Heart Church. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:30 p.m. Monday in Moreau Seminary where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements.
