Donna Lannoo

SOUTH BEND - Donna Lannoo, 93, of Berkley Circle, passed away at 4:55 A.M. on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2008, at Southfield Village in South Bend, IN. Donna was born Jan. 6, 1914, in Wyatt, IN, as the daughter of Amos and Elizabeth (Schedagger) Bendit.

 

On Feb. 1, 1936, Donna married Raymond Lannoo, who preceded her in death on July 25, 2001, after 65 years of marriage. A son, Thomas, preceded her in death in 1989; a grandson, Jerry, preceded her in death as well in 1969; a sister, Evelyn Koehler; and a brother, Cleo Bendit. Donna is survived by a daughter, Janice (Victor) Putz of Mishawaka, and a son, Michael (Carol) Lannoo, also of Mishawaka. She also leaves eight grandchildren, Victoria (James) Putz-Brooks of Massachusetts, Laureen (Kevin) Johnson of South Bend, Daniel (Kristen) Putz of Cleveland, Christopher (Dawn) Lannoo of Bristol, Dawn (Scott) Bunkleman of Mishawaka, Machelle Lannoo of Granger, Susan (Drew) Wenzel of Chesapeake, VA, and Sarah (J.D. Nay) Lannoo of Ogden, UT; and 12 great-grandchildren, Andrew Schloemer of Kentucky, Cara Schloemer of Lafayette, IN, Justin Lannoo and Crystal Bunkleman, both of Mishawaka, Joshua and Nicole Lannoo, both of Mishawaka, Melissa Kenney and Zane VanZant, both of Granger, and Joseph Lannoo of Chesapeake, Gwendolyn and Natalie Putz, both of Ohio, and Shafer Nay of Ogden, UT. Also surviving are two brothers, Otho (Betty) Bendit of South Bend and Robert Bendit of Texas; and three sisters-in-law, Madeline (George) Kristel of New York, Elsie DeMeulenaere of Mishawaka and Shirley Lannoo of Osceola. Donna was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to travel and planned many trips throughout the United States with her family. She loved to work with photos and family genealogy. She had a long life and will be greatly missed by her family.

 

Friends and family may call on Friday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 7 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th St., Mishawaka, where the holy Rosary will be recited at 5 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Bavo Catholic Church in Mishawaka, with the Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Contributions in memory of Donna may be made to St. Bavo Catholic Church, 511 W. 7th St.
