Martha L. Languell, 91, of Aberdeen Drive, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, in Hospice House, South Bend. Martha was born in Ellettsville, Ind., on Sept. 5, 1910. She graduated in 1928 from Ellettsville High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, Ind.; United Methodist Women; Sommers Square Association; charter member Denby High School P.T.A., Detroit, Mich.; and was a charter member of the Denby Kiwanis Auxiliary, Detroit. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Dora Curry in 1965, and Augusta Christina Marxson Curry in 1967; two brothers, Paul Burton Curry in 1945, and Gene Curry in 1996; and by two sisters, Mildred Faye Curry Easton Shaw in 1960 and Harriett Elizabeth Curry Bunch in 1996.

On Feb. 17, 1931, in Herrodsburg, Ind., Martha married John V. Languell, who passed away on May 10, 1980. She is survived by a daughter, Donna C. (Don) McCampbell of Mishawaka; and a son, Keith J. (Donna) Languell of Wilson, N.C.; three grandchildren, Paul and Lesley Languell of Mishawaka, Sue and Rhett Tison of Pauley's Island, S.C., and Kim and Vinnie DeCarlo of Manassas, Va.; seven great-grandchildren, Krystal and Katrina Languell, Taylor, Tara and Trinity Tison, Jonathan and Christopher DeCarlo; and by a sister, Frances Marie Curry May Shewman of Mishawaka.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 20, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Gardens, Bloomington, Ind., with a 4:30 p.m. graveside service on Friday. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Books for Babies Mishawaka PTA Council, or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
