Matthew Lang

February 13, 1967June 9, 1985

 

Matthew Lang, 18, of 50699 Haven Hill Drive, Granger, was found dead in his home late Saturday night.  Death was due to hanging, according to county police.  Police said Lang had been despondent.  The death remains under investigation by Dr. Michael O’Connell, deputy county coroner.

 

Born February 13, 1967, in South Bend, he was a 1985 graduate of Clay High School.

 

Surviving are his parents, Jacqueline L and James A. Lang, of the same address’ two sisters, Louann Taelman of Granger and a Kathleen Moor of Kankakee IL; a brother, Andrew J of South Bend; a paternal grandmother, G. Mildred Lang of South Bend.

 

Services will be at 9:30am Tuesday in the Chapel at St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, and burial will follow.  There will be no visitation.  The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., is handling arrangements.

 

He was employed at Industrial Packaging Corp, was listed in Who’s Who of High School Seniors, a member of the Regal Lane Softball Team and the First Presbyterian Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Mental Heath Association.
