Kenneth B. ''K.B.'' Lamont, 91, of Country Club Lane, South Bend, Ind., died at 8:20 p.m. on Monday, July 12, in Saint Joseph's Regional Medical Center, South Bend.

 

He was born on Nov. 4, 1907, in Grayling, Mich., to Ida (Maynard) and Robert Lamont, who both preceded him in death, and was raised in Bay City, Mich.

 

He moved to South Bend in 1938, coming here from Flint, Mich.

 

On Aug. 29, 1933, in Cadillac, Mich., he married Marguerite E. ''Peg'' Beckman, who preceded him in death on June 19, 1995. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Robert; and by a brother, Berzey Lamont.

 

Mr. Lamont is survived by a daughter, Connie, and her husband, Earl Troeger of South Bend; a son, Dennis R., and his wife, Vicki Lamont of South Bend; five grandchildren, Jeffry and his wife, Susan Troeger of Steamboat, Colo., Tom and his wife, Libby Troeger of Fishers, Ind., David and his wife, Christine Troeger of South Bend, Tammi and her husband, David Neeser of South Bend, and Colin and his wife, Sarah Lamont of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and by 13 great-grandchildren.

 

Mr. Lamont was a pharmacist and was the owner of Lamont Drugs from 1943-1986, which was located on Mishawaka Avenue in River Park. He was a graduate of Ferris State College where he received a degree in pharmacy.

 

He was past president of the Indiana Pharmaceutical Association, the St. Joseph County Pharmaceutical Association and the River Park Businessmen's Association. He was a former member of the advisory board for First Source Bank in River Park. He was a member of St. Joseph Masonic Lodge #45 and the Scottish Rite.

 

Services for Mr. Lamont will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 16, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, South Bend. Rev. Robyn McMullen of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church, South Bend, will conduct the services.

 

Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind.

 

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the donor's favorite charity. (nf)
