MISHAWAKA - Sister M. Henrita Laake, OSF, 85, of Our Lady of Angels, Saint Francis Convent, died about 1 a.m. today in her residence. Sister Mary Henrita was born Dec. 15, 1908, in St. Bernard, Ohio, as Rose Marie Laake. She entered the convent on Nov. 1, 1927, and received her Franciscan habit on June 29, 1928. She was assigned to nursing and was supervisor and director of St. Elizabeth's Hospital School of Nursing, Lafayette, Ind.; hospital administrator from 1954-88 at hospitals in Illinois, Indiana and Tennessee; and administrator of St. Jude's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., from 1961-64. Her last mission was St. Francis Hospital & Health Center, Beech Grove, Ind., retired in 1991. She is survived by a sister, Dorothy Laake of St. Bernard.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the convent chapel, where a wake will be at 6:45 p.m. today. Burial will be in Saint Francis Convent Cemetery. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
